Our Boathouse
We are incredibly fortunate to have a Boathouse along the river Isis, from which we train and race throughout the academic year. It is currently shared with Trinity and Linacre, and was historically shared with St Benet's pre 2022.
We invite all LMH alumni, students, and staff to visit the Boathouse on the Saturday of Torpids/Summer Eights week to support our racing crews!

Where we are located

The LMH Boathouse is located on Boathouse Island, accessible from Christ Church meadows either via the entrances on St Aldate's, or Merton Street.

For your first couple outings, a captain or senior member of the club will meet you at a designated meeting point (usually at plodge in college or at the St Aldate's Tesco) to walk/cycle down to the Boathouse together.

From LMH, it is about a 40 minute walk, or 10 minute cycle down to Christ Church meadows (no bikes are allowed on Boathouse Island).

Our Facilities
The Boathouse is where we do most of our training, especially in the warmer months. Our racing shells, blades and coxing equipment are housed in the downstairs of the Boathouse, looked after by the committee and our wonderful boatsman Mark Seal, who handles the vast majority of maintenance and repairs.
Upstairs is home to our ergs, shared between all members of the Boathouse, as well as a kitchen and bar area. During bumps season, this is often where you'll find crews warming up, applying face paint, and congratulating crews that have just raced.
We are currently looking to collaborate with Trinity and Linacre to renovate this space. If you have any memorabilia that you want displayed, please get in contact with our President!
